Wm Jerry Nichols passed away at his home on Monday, March 1st, 2021 in Grangeville Idaho, at the age of 85. The son of Wm Troy and Syble (Wadkins) Nichols was born on November 4, 1935 in Sterling City, Texas.
Jerry served in the US Army and was stationed in Hawaii from 1958-1960. In 1968 he moved his family to Sonora, Ca. He was a laborer, where he worked construction and also as a tunnel miner. He worked on several dams in the surrounding area. He was a lifetime member in the labor’s union. In 2017 he moved to Grangeville Idaho. He enjoyed backpacking, hunting, fishing, trap shooting, gardening, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Jean (Steve) Amant of Tuolumne, CA, and Sally (Mark) McColloch of Kamiah, Idaho. Grandchildren Travis (Liz) Amant of Sacramento, CA, Kyanna (Aaron) Rodgers of Sonora, CA, Louis (Jennifer) McColloch of Grangeville, Id, Haley (Jeremiah) Grove of Moccasin, CA, Amanda Mccolloch (Brent Hess) of Grangeville, Idaho, and Ricky (Lily) Mccolloch of Lewiston, Idaho. His great grandchildren Jesse and Destiny Amant, Hunter, Jeven, Lillyana and Arianna Rodgers, Colt, William, and Case Mccolloch, Bode and Evalyn grove, Kaden, Ella, Ethan, Lane, Lucas and Ricky Mccolloch Hess. And his sister Mary collier, nephew Brian Collier and his niece, Nancy Benton and her family of Minden Nv.
Jerry will be laid to rest at the Woodland Cemetery, Kamiah, ID on Thursday, March 4, 2021. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. Send condolences to the family to blackmerfuneralhome.com.
