Ruth E. Amstutz, 90

Ruth E. Amstutz, 90, peacefully went to her eternal home with the Lord she loved on Sept. 4, 2018, at her home in Grangeville, ID. She was born August 5, 1928, in Bluffton, OH, to the late Clarence and Esther (Slusser) Jones. On June 7, 1947, she married Dwaine Amstutz, the love of her life.

Ruth was a homemaker who had also worked at Triplett Corp., Dr. Huss Dental, and the Cottage Gift Haus in Bluffton. She enjoyed working with flowers and decorating. She loved her family, church and all the activities of her children, grand and great grandchildren.

In 2001 she moved to Grangeville, ID, with her husband, Dwaine, to be closer to some of her children. She attended the Grangeville Nazarene Church while living there and was a life long member of the Ebenezer Mennonite Church of Bluffton, OH.

Ruth is survived by her 7 children; Diane (Dick) Badertscher, Sharon (Carl) Sommer, Sandy (Rod) Kantner, and Bev (Kevin Hahn) all of Grangeville, ID, Ken (Doris) Amstutz of Cypress, TX, Sue (Steve) Yant of Six Mile, SC and Greg (Pattie) Amstutz of Ensenada, Mexico. She is also survived by 17 grand, 38 great, and 1 great great grandchild (plus spouses). She is survived by Sisters-in-law Joan Jones of Bluffton, OH, Maudra Jones of Findlay, OH, and numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dwaine, her parents, and siblings; Margaret Herr, Alice Wingate, Casey Jones, Martha Beach and David Jones.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of Ruth’s life at the Grangeville Nazarene Church, Grangeville, ID, on Saturday, September 15th at 3:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton, OH, at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville.
