GRANGEVILLE: Roy S. “Sam” Murray, 92 of Kooskia passed away October 16, 2005 at the Grangeville Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Sam was born December 22, 1912 at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, a son of Samuel and Jean Heard Murray. He attended school through the 10th grade and then worked as a salesman for National Radio Shop. In 1930 he started a career in the tool and die business and worked for several companies including the US Government and Singer. He married Bonnie Weber on February 14, 1944, they were married for over 60 years. They moved to Idaho in 1996 and Bonnie passed away last year.
He enjoyed guns, pistols, and his black lab dogs. He also liked to listen to books on tape and to talk about his past work projects. He was a life member of the NRA and he also was a sharp shooter.
At his request there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
