Bob was born, on April 13, 1930, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Ralph and Dorothy Harper. He joined the Navy in 1948 and met and married, Lorry, the love of his life, in 1950. His marriage of 57 years, college degrees, three children, five grandchildren, owner of Riggins Hardware and community services were the things in life he enjoyed and cherished most.
He is survived by his wife, Lorry Harper; children, Janet and John Ravenscraft, Stephen Harper and John Harper; grandchildren, Joel and Jenna Ravenscraft, Stacy and Leon Curtis, Wyatt and Alicia Harper; sister and brother-in-law Pat and George Howlett, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother, Ralph Harper.
Bob taught all of us all about unconditional love and shared his positive outlook on life daily. He spent many years in community services and especially enjoyed his Riggins City Council membership. One of his last wishes was to remind everyone to exercise their rights and get out and vote.
A Celebration of his Life will be held, on Friday, October 19, 2007, at the Salmon River Community Church, in Riggins, Idaho, at 1:00p.m. (MST).
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Riggins Emergency Services, P.O. Box 249, Riggins, Idaho 83549. Bob used their services numerous times and so appreciated their time and efforts in supporting the Riggins Community.
Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home in Grangeville.
