Myrna Lee Hornbeck, 72
Myrna passed away Sunday, November 14, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Lewiston, Idaho.
She was born to Lloyd and Marie Jacks at Winchester, Idaho on May 29, 1938, the second of five children. The family moved to Clearwater, Idaho in 1944 to a cattle ranch. She attended school in Clearwater through the 8th Grade and graduated from Stites High School in 1956.
Myrna had many fond memories of country living, horseback rides with her siblings and close neighborhood kids, treeing a bear, square dances at eh hall and the occasional horseback ride to the swimming hole at Harpster. Myrna was a little dare devil (standing up on a horse running at full gallop across the field), she was also known for doing a prank on someone. Myrna picked blackberries to pay Aunt Janis for piano lessons.
She married Bob Watts in 1956, they lived in numerous places in Idaho- Whitebird, Clearwater, Kamiah, Grangeville and Ontario, Oregon. They had four children. They were divorced in 1975; she was married two other times and divorced.
Myrna loved her family dearly; she was a member of the Eagles Lodge. She loved to bowl, draw Christmas and birthday cards, yard selling – looking for treasures. Halloween was a favorite time because she could dress up as a clown and entertain everyone.
Her later years she enjoyed playing banjo and watching country TV as Alan Jackson was her favorite singer.
She worked at Cash and Carry grocery store and the Grangeville nursing home.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Patton (Bill) of Grangeville, Nola Tollman of Caldwell, ID, her father, Lloyd Jacks of Clearwater, her brother Bill Jacks (Gloria) of Clearwater, sisters, Roxie George of Clearwater and Connie Forsmann (Dan) of Keuterville, her sister in law, Norma Jacks of Parma, ID, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Myrna is now in the arms of Jesus, her mom Marie, grandparents, brother Archie, daughter Kim and son Bobby.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 20th, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Clearwater Baptist Church. Inurnment will follow at the Clearwater Cemetery. A potluck will be at the IOOF Hall in Clearwater for family and friends. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
