COTTONWOOD: Marvin Lowry, 51 of White Bird passed away Thursday, December 9 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood of a heart attack.
Marvin was born April 13, 1953 at Compton, California a son of Clyde and Marie Stipek Lowry. He attended schools in California and graduated from high school there. He attended Reedley Jr. College in California before transferring to the University of Idaho at Moscow. Following his education went to work for the US Forest Service in the Priest Lake area of Idaho. He moved to Riggins in the late 1970’s and went to work at Slate Creek Ranger Dist. He continued to work at Slate Creek until the time of his death. He married Susanna Smith on May 5, 1983 at Grangeville.
He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, hunting and especially steelhead fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Susanna at the family home in White Bird, his mother, Marie Stipek of California, a daughter Lara Lowry of Lewiston, a step son, Wes Burman of Las Vegas, two sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his father.
