Kimberly D Tollman Carpenter, 41



 Kimberly Dawn Tollman Carpenter, beautiful child of God, Wonderful Wife, Mother, Daughter, Granddaughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend left our world on Friday, October 22, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital, Spokane, WA from injuries sustained in a car accident Wednesday, October 20, 2010 outside of Nezperce, ID.  Kimberly is now home with Jesus!

Kimberly was born in Caldwell, ID February 23, 1969 to Ron and Betty Tollman.  She graduated from Caldwell High School in 1987 and then attended the University of Idaho where she met the love of her life, Kevin Carpenter.  Kevin & Kimberly married in Caldwell June 3, 1989 and lived in Moscow until Kevin graduated from the U of I.  There, Kimberly & Kevin started their beautiful family of six.  Kaleigh & Kaleb were born in Moscow, Kristian & Kamas in Caldwell, Kourtne in California & KJ (Kevin Jackson) in Caldwell. 

Kimberly’s life was her family & the Lord Jesus.  She lived every day to the fullest.  People, not things, were important to her which she shared by loving, learning or teaching.  Kimberly never met a stranger and most would call her their friend.  She loved athletics and all that it involved; training, coaching, playing, watching, and filming.   She was finishing her teaching degree at Lewis & Clark State College in Lewiston, ID along with children Kaleigh & Kaleb. Kimberly participated in a triathlon in Mill Valley and has been participating in marathons the past 2 years in San Francisco, Portland & Lewiston with friends from Nezperce.  Their next was to be in Seattle in November and Chicago in 2011.

Kimberly taught swimming lessons & managed swimming pools in Moscow, Caldwell, Nezperce, ID and Mill Valley, CA.  She became a certified life guard and water aerobics instructor while living in Mill Valley.  She coached basketball & track at Moscow, Caldwell & Nampa Christian School.  She taught PE at the Christian Church School in Caldwell.  At Nezperce, she has coached basketball, track, gymnastics & swim team along with substitute teaching.  Kimberly is a Red Cross CPR, First Aide and WSI instructor, volunteer EMT with Nezperce Ambulance and a member of the Library reading program

 Kimberly attends the Hope Baptist Church and has taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and belonged to the Utah/Idaho Baptist VBS training team.  She was instrumental in forming the Southern Baptist churches in Kuna and Homedale.  Kimberly worked tirelessly for every congregation in every location that they have lived.  

  Kimberly recently posted on Facebook: “I am a wife of one, mom of 6 and love them all so very dearly! Soon to be mother-in-law of one!”  Her favorite quotation: “It’s better to be nice than to be right”.

 Kimberly is survived by her husband & 6 children, Nezperce, ID; parents, sister Paige & Scott Smith, Madeline, Kenesen & Nathanial Barber and Grandmother, Jeane Tollman, Caldwell; Kevin’s parents Ken & Kathy Carpenter, Grangeville, ID; Kevin’s Brothers Keith & Kristine, Konnor, Kaden, Kody and Kaleb, Shoreline, WA; Kent & Erin and Katherine, Cherokee, NC; Kevin’s sister Karen & Tony Kight, Kale, Samuel and Hannah, Brownsburg, IN. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Uncle Lonny Adler, Grandparents, Albert & Delila Adler; Grandfather Paul Tollman and Kevin’s Grandparents Anthony & Helen Oreb, Wade & Lois Carpenter.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 27th at 4:30 pm in the Nezperce High School Gymnasium with a reception & dinner immediately following at the Legion Hall, corner of 5th & Maple, Nezperce, ID. Graveside services will be held at the Nezperce Community Cemetery on Thursday at 11:00 am.  The family will hold a separate memorial service in Caldwell at a later date. Services are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.

Memorial contributions may be made for the family to US Bank, Nezperce or to  Nezperce Ambulance, Craigmont Quick Response Unit, Life Flight, St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center, Lewiston and Neuro ICU Sacred Heart Medical Center, Spokane.
