RIGGINS: June Cook, 85 of Riggins passed away at her home on Thursday, November 4, 2004.
June was born June 5, 1919 at Cabarton, Idaho a logging camp between Cascade and Banks, Idaho. They moved to Emmett where she attended school and graduated from Emmett High School. She married John Cook in 1936 at Emmett. They moved to McCall where they owned and operated a motel before moving to work on a cattle ranch at White Bird. In 1959 they retired and up the Main Salmon River at the Allison Ranch. They moved to Riggins in 1966. Mr. Cook passed away in 1979 and June continued to live in Riggins.
She was an active member of the Riggins Community Church and enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by two sons, Dan and his wife Beate Cook and Dave and Ann Cook all of Riggins. She is also survived by a sister, Gertrude Heidner of Emmett, five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her husband four sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
Memorial services will held Friday, November 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the Salmon River Community Church in Riggins.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville.
