Longtime Cottonwood resident Grace C. Remacle passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 peacefully in her home at the age of 96. Grace was born on January 22, 1922 in Cottonwood Idaho to Michael and Anna Geis. She attended St. Joseph parochial school.
Grace married Raymond Remacle at Cottonwood on January 9, 1940. Grace worked for Chapman Electric and Archies Cleaners all while raising 5 children. Grace was a lady of many talents, she was an avid seamstress, embroiderer, and quilter. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Parish.
She is survived by her 5 children, Maryanne Wabaunsee, Pasco, Patricia Talbott, Lewiston, James (Barbara) Remacle, John (Chris) Remacle, and David Remacle Cottonwood. Her siblings Rose Stieger, Margie Gentry, Martha Rieman, Frances Nuttman, and Rita Walker, 25 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and 16 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Raymond of 67 years, her siblings John, Xavier, Martin, John, Raymond, Joseph, George Geis and sisters Anna McKinley, Mary Wassmuth Brown 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 at 9:00 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Cottonwood. Rosary will begin at 10:00 am with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:30 am. Burial to follow at the Cottonwood Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville.
