Our dear mother, Edna Johnston had been asking God to take her home since she had started failing and was unable to do all the things she loved doing. Her prayers were answered June 28, 2019 when she passed away at the Saint Mary’s Hospital in Cottonwood at the age of 102.
Edna was born July 24, 1916, to Reece and Lela Graham in Westlake, Idaho the 6 of 7 children. She grew up in Westlake and attended school there. Then on November 6, 1935 she married Al Johnston of Ferdinand and moved to the Johnston homestead where she lived the rest of her life. There they raised 4 children, Donald (Karen), Ronald, Joyce (Ralph) Lorentz and Larry (Sharon) and we’re blessed with nine grandchildren, 13 greats and 18 great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Al, son in law Ralph, daughter in law Grace, and 9 grandchildren.
Mom was loved by all who knew her, and she was one heck of a good cook and the best mom any kid could ever ask for.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Craigmont Cemetery with nephew Loran Roseborough officiating. A luncheon will follow later at American Legion Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home, Grangeville. You may submit condolences to the family to Blackmerfuneralhome.com.
