MOSCOW: A rare old soul, Booker Wisdom Sherwood, 23 found his peace on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016.
Booker wouldn’t have wanted an obituary. He would have preferred to stay in the background, being the silent watchdog. No fuss. No limelight. But, Booker, we need to.
There were deep layers to Booker. Son, brother, friend, philosopher, leader — a man driven by a raw inner purpose and guided by wisdom and logic. There also was the man that could illicit an eruption of laughter with his creative and hilarious written word, or with just a look; and, of course, the legendary shenanigans.
Book was quotable, a man of few spoken words (as he preferred to listen), but when he did choose to speak, it was worth listening to. Here, he was free. Of friends, he had an army. And together with his family, he had a foundation of loving, dedicated, loyal and supportive souls that he treasured and that treasured him.
Booker is survived by his mother and stepfather John and Kelly Bambacigno; his father, Dr. Mark Sherwood; his sister, Emily Sherwood; grandparents Jim and Betty Spickelmire, Dr. Jeannette Sherwood, Ann Goforth; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Forever proud. Forever a light as to what is true. And honest. And real. Twenty-three years he lived before he decided his final truth. He decided. Booker you are loved. And we will always be in your audience clapping wildly.
The family will be having a private ceremony to celebrate his life. Date is yet to be arranged.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Blackmer Funeral Home of Grangeville. Send condolences to the family to Blackmerfuneralhome.com.
